Session: 8 30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Programs and courses are approved by the New York State De-partment of Education. Students are responsible for completing all courses within the approved curriculum that they are en-rolled in. Financial Aid (PELL/TAP) is available to eligible students en-rolled in programs/courses of 768 hours or more in length. A Diploma or Certi-ficate is awarded to a student upon successful completion of the program or course he/she is enrolled in. However, before a graduate can receive a Diploma or Certificate, he/she must fulfill all financial obligations to the Institute. The Institute will assist all graduates with lifetime place-ment into entry-level positions in their various fields of study. However, it must be understood that placement can-not be guaranteed to any student or graduate. Entrance Requirements
Programs With ESL And Technical Skills
*A Term consists of 16 weeks. The above programs provide intensive instruction in English to applicants of a foreign language entering the Institute at the beginner to advanced levels of English. Students must complete the English As A 2nd Language portion of their training successfully before they can enter into the technical section of the curriculum. The lengths of programs and courses vary from 12 to 19 months. They are taught and delivered by dedicated, loyal, stable, nurturing and caring Instructors. Applicants may contact the Department of Admissions for a full description of all courses within the approved curriculum. Training And Equipment The Institute is committed to provide students with the necessary tools to complete their program of study and prepare them for the market place. There are several computer labs networked through an advanced wireless system. Each workstation (Pentium 4 processors, some with flat screens) is equipped with high-speed internet access. In order for graduates to have a competitive edge in today's job market, the policy is to ensure that students are trained on up-to-date equipment and software to allow them to get the most out of their educational experience. Other classroom visual aid equipment such as high-resolution projectors, TV's, VCRs, etc., are available for teaching enhancement and reinforcement of the various subjects. Stand-Alone courses in English ONLY from beginner to advanced levels are designed to help those individuals who entered the United States legally with a profession and/or skill, but are unable to practice their profession and/or skill in the United States owing to their English deficiencies. If an applicant is eligible for Title IV Fund to finance his/her cost of learning English, he/she is required to provide a written statement as to the reason for learning English.

that ESL Stand-Alone courses are for instruction in English ONLY. They do
not provide instruction that will result in the acquisition of
occupational skills.
Introductory ESL- 90 Hours This part-time beginner course is designed to assist those individuals who are unable to attend classes to learn English on a full-time basis. The course introduces students to basic English grammar, simple sentence building, as well as to converse comfortably in English. The goal is to en-able the student overcome some of the basic fundamentals of English. Class hours are flexible and may be taken evenings or weekends. Financial aid is not available; payments for tuition, books/work materials are paid out of pocket. However, an affordable and convenient payment plan may be arranged. |
